Our first meeting of the newly-revitalized Hoosier EVA is in the books! You can take a look at our meeing notes here:

Hoosier EVA Meeting Notes – Sep 12, 2026

Here are some of the brief highlights:

  • We met Paul Bordenkircher, our new President, and Zebee Villagren, an IU student studying Comprehensive Design, who will be assisting us with graphic elements for our chapter.
  • We discussed the newly-revitalized chapter, the move to Bloomington for now, and future ideas on chapters in other Indiana cities.
  • We discussed the chapter being active again, due to paid memberships and planned activities. We also shared some of the new free services the national EVA office can provide to us.
  • We updated the status of two grants – one denied, the other is awaiting the application window to open.
  • We reviewed current prioirities for the club.

One of our most important items was the upcoming National Drive Electric Month event on October 10. It will be our first public event since the changes, and encourage everyone to come out if you can! If you wish to show your EV at the event, we have a plan to grab several parking spaces nearby that will be available on an unofficial basis. We also reminded everyone of the Ride and Drive Event in Indianapolis on September 19th.

If you are planning to attend either event – even if you’re not sure – please RSVP to the official NDEM 2026 event pages, to add to our count. We’ll also be able to update those bringing their EVs on where to park.

Indianapolis NDEM September 19
Bloomington NDEM October 10

We also talked about funding, and some of the items we need, hopefully before October 10. The national org is working on some funding for us, and anticipate knowing more very soon.

We reminded everyone that the Hoosier EVA is under the national EVA’s 501(c)3 status, so any donations are tax-deductible. We reviewed the donation website to ensure to select Hoosier EVA when donating.

Remember: next month there will NOT be a regular meeting, as it occurs on the second Saturday, the same as our NDEM event in Bloomington.
